The inquiry has now finished, thank you for your support.
Demand for office space in the UK has been falling for over a decade, a trend that the pandemic has sped up. Maidenhead faces a critical shortage of industrial and logistics space, unable to meet demand. The Maidenhead Office Park is set to become 600,000 sq ft of premium commercial space, addressing the needs of expanding local businesses.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Re: Maidenhead Office Park (PINS Ref: APP/T0355/W/24/3336224)
I am writing in support the proposals to regenerate Maidenhead Office Park (PINS Ref: APP/T0355/W/24/3336224).
This regeneration of a strategically located underutilised and underoccupied site has clear economic benefits that demonstrate very special circumstances: £180m boost to the local economy, the creation over 600 new jobs, a further £4.8m through the local supply chain to help existing and new local businesses grow.
I am also supportive of the wider cultural and education investments in our community with up to 3,686 weeks of training opportunities in operation and investment in public art to maintain the aviation heritage of the area.
I wish to highlight that although green belt the existing office park has never been accessible to the public and has been in commercial use since it was built in the early 1990s, with economic use since the 1920s. It is allocated for employment uses and, therefore, I remain supportive of the scheme’s commitment to 10% biodiversity net gain.
I urge you to grant consent.
Yours sincerely,
